The Wedding Feast: Are You Ready?

The great wedding feast is being prepared. The church needs to wake up. They are asleep to the spirit realm while the storm whirls around them. They are too busy pursuing the fashions of the world, and they cannot be bothered to put on the right clothes for the wedding feast. They slumber in their spiritual pajamas, while attending earthly glamour shows. They are destined straight for outer darkness.

The Parable of the Wedding Feast

Read Matthew 12. Jesus told a parable of a great wedding feast, prepared by YHWH, ruler of all the universe. The original invitees, the Jewish people, turned their back on YHWH and disdained the feast. They refused to come, even going so far as killing the messengers- the prophets of YHWH. Now look carefully at these verses: read more

angel art flower

Angel Art

Angel art is always created before Yahweh’s throne. Heaven is a place of imagination, love, beauty, and art.

Angels Dance

Angel art dances before Yahweh’s throne. Angels twirl and circle, their graceful bodies sweeping the air, kissing the branches of the trees. They land on butterfly toes and skate the surface of the glass sea. Walking on water is no miracle in that land. Dancing on water is the miracle and the joy. Joy shown in a smile that stretches from the dancers’ faces to their outstretched arms. Joy shone in the twinkling of their eyes and the sparkling of their white gowns. Their joy flickers in the earthly realm for humans with open hearts. Angels lead the mating dance of the crane, or the early morning sky-dance of the stars. Humans rarely notice this dance of joy, but the joy is mirrored on the face of the Father. read more

The Lowly Dove: The Power of the Holy Spirit

The lowly dove is a common bird. Not flashy, like a peacock, or talkative, like a parrot, the dove too often goes unnoticed. But the lowly dove is my favorite bird, and a prophetic sign on earth.

The Lowly Dove as Peace in the Bible

The dove is the universal prophetic symbol for peace. This makes sense, as we first see the dove in the Bible during the great flood. Noah sends out a dove to see if the land is dry, and the dove comes back with an olive branch. This is the first sign that the flood is receding, a sign that God has washed away all wickedness, making peace with humans. read more

Christmas Eve 2011: Jesus’ Message

Jesus is speaking to the church as we celebrate his birth this Christmas eve 2011.

A Message of Love

Jesus says,

My Father is not Santa Claus. He keeps no list of naughty and nice, no list of rights and wrongs. He loves the changed heart of a sinner, but he resists the proud. How is your heart toward the Father? Are you pursuing His kingdom of righteousness, or are you pursuing the fleeting gifts of the world?

I give you far more than cheap goods from the retail store. I came to the world to give everything for you. I long to heal you, but you must come to me with a repentant heart. A bruised weed I will not break, and a smoldering wick I will not stuff out. I love you. Are you following me with your own cross? read more

all oppression shall cease, snowy fence

In His Name All Oppression Shall Cease

Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name!

All Oppression Shall Cease

These are the lyrics to the third verse of the beloved Christmas song “O Holy Night.” Yet how often do we forget that Jesus came to break chains, that at the very mention of his holy name all oppression must cease?

How often does the church who claims to love Jesus practice loving one another? How much love do we as Christians show to those who are outside our denomination, our social circle, our belief system? read more
